Special Components
In keeping with the requirements of competition, some non-stock-KL systems were called for: take-no-prisoners intake and exhaust, upgraded ignition, and a good engine management unit.

Custom long-tube stainless headers, Y-pipe, and 3" exhaust.
Ignition
The requisite number of Miata ignition coils, for use with a modified Miata optical Crank Angle Sensor and an MSD DIS-4 control unit.
Engine Management
Autronic SMC laptop-tunable system, that senses rpm, throttle position, and coolant temperature.
Oil
Filter Bypass Block
Headers necessitated relocating the oil filter.
